To do this, follow the steps given below.

1. Disconnect the adapter from your laptop along with other accessories. Turn OFF your computer and place it upside down on a smooth surface. Remove all the screws securing the back panel of your laptop in place using a screwdriver. Remove the back panel with the help of a spudger. This will expose your battery. 
2. Remove the screws holding the battery in place and gently pull the battery upwards.  
3. Remove the black connector to detach the battery from the motherboard. 
4. Install a new battery in place of the old one.
5. Put all the components back in the reverse order of removing them. 
6. Turn your laptop ON and let your laptop identify the new battery. This will fix the issue of a laptop not turning ON unless plugged in. 
7. Check the adapter as well as cables to spot any physical damage to the adapter. If the cable is broken or frayed at any point, you will need to replace it with a new one.
8. Uninstall the power management drivers on your laptop. To do this, open the Start menu and type Device Manager in the search bar and hit Enter. In the Device Manager window that opens on your screen, you will be able to see the different options. 
9. Select the Batteries option. You will see a list of batteries installed on your laptop. 
10. Right-click the name of each component and select the Uninstall option from the context menu. Restart your laptop and allow the drivers to reinstall automatically. 14. Blow some air into the battery slot to remove any dust particles trapped in it. You can also use a fine brush to clean the slot thoroughly. 
15. Place the battery on its edge and connect the back connector to it. 
16. Put the battery in the slot and tighten the screws on it. 
17. Attach the back panel as well and turn ON your laptop. 

 

 

ASUS laptop not turning on no power light

Your ASUS X515JA laptop may not be turning ON, and no power light may be visible to you because of problems in the battery or adapter.

ASUS laptop not turning on but showing orange light

Your ASUS M515 laptop may not be turning ON but showing an orange light because of a laptop battery charging problem. When the laptop battery is completely drained and you connect a charger, the laptop doesn’t turn ON immediately.

 

If you have connected the adapter for a long time now but the orange light is still flashing, this may be due to a battery malfunction.

 

You can fix this issue by letting the battery charge for an hour to let it get charged completely, following the steps given below.

If you still see the orange light blinking, it may be because the battery is improperly installed and it’s unable to charge. You will need to take the battery and install it again properly to fix it. 

1. Place your laptop on its side such that the back panel faces you. With the help of some screwdrivers, remove the screws holding the back panel. Take off the back panel with a spudger. This will expose the battery to you. 
2. Remove the screws holding the battery in the panel and pull the battery out partially with just mild force. Avoid pulling the battery completely because it is connected to the motherboard with a back connector. 
3. Hold the battery upwards and remove the connector 
4. Take the battery out completely from its slot.
5. Blow some air to get rid of any dust particles trapped in the battery slot. Alternatively, a fine brush can also be used to clean the slot well. 
6. Keep the battery on its edge and connect it to the back connector. 
7. Replace the battery in the slot and fasten the screws removed earlier.
8. Put the back panel firmly in place. 
9. Press the Power button on your laptop and see if it turns ON or not. If it doesn’t, you should take it to the ASUS repair center to fix the problem. 

 

ASUS laptop not turning on but flashing red battery light

Your ASUS L210 laptop may not be turning ON but flashing a red battery light because of no power in the battery. When the battery gets drained of power, usually below 5%, the laptop doesn’t turn ON and indicates a low battery with a red flashing light.

You can easily fix this by charging your laptop battery by connecting a power adapter. Let the laptop charge for at least 30 minutes.

 

If the battery is still flashing red light, you may have to do the following.

1. It’s possible that your power adapter is faulty and is not charging the laptop battery. To check this, you can test your power adapter to confirm that it has gone bad by connecting it with some other ASUS laptop. If it doesn’t charge the battery of this laptop as well, then the power adapter is bad and needs immediate replacement.

ASUS laptop not turning on after sleep

ASUS E510 laptop may not be tuning ON after sleep because the laptop has been sleeping for a long time and so went into hibernation. At this point, you have to press the Power button to wake your laptop from Sleep mode. If the laptop still doesn’t turn ON, try the solutions given below.

If the problem persists, you can try resetting your laptop. Before trying this step, make sure you back up your personal data. 

 

ASUS laptop not turning on unless plugged in

Your ASUS M509 laptop may not be turning ON unless plugged in because of a bad battery. When the battery becomes faulty, the laptop doesn’t turn ON because it doesn’t have power. When you plug it in, the charger supplies the power to the laptop. To fix this, follow the steps given below.

4. Right-click each component and press uninstall from the context menu. 
5. Restart the laptop and opt for the automatic reinstallation of the drivers. If it doesn’t solve the problem of the ASUS laptop not turning ON unless plugged in, delete the drivers followed by a download and installation from the laptop manufacturers official website.
